The copy of the 1840 census I have was for
the most part in alphabetical order and didn't have page numbers. Since
it wasn't listed by house number I have re-sorted it completely into
alphabetical order to make the listing easier to use. Some of the listings
have a name, or head of household, but don't indicate any people living
there, those show all zeros. I'm not sure why they're like that, but
that's how it was done. Like any transcription, every effort has been made
at being accurate, but mistakes do occur. Please use this as a guide
only and consult the originals for verification.
