 Technicians Mate Duane Joseph Jacques, US Navy, Ret., of Moncks Corner, SC, died Tues. morning, Aug. 1, 2006 in a North Charleston hospital.The funeral was held Aug. 4, at the graveside in the Beaufort National Cemetery. Interment followed with full military honors. Directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Tech Mate Jacques was born June 4, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, a son of Joseph Charles Jacques and Agnes Eleanor Roberts Jacques. He served in Vietnam and was an avid supporter our troops. He was a loving father and enjoyed cooking. Tech Mate Jacques was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed shooting skeet and collecting guns. He was a member of the VFW in Moncks Corner and attended the Church of God in James Island.Surviving are, his daughter, Shaunna Jacques of Moncks Corner; and two sisters, Kay Maughan and her husband, Fred, of Woodburn, OR, and Carol Alexander of Walla Walla, WA.

Billy Raymond Jones, Sr., 82, of St. Stephen, S.C., former owner and operator of Mid South Machine and Metal, died May 19, 2006, at his daughter's residence. Arrangements were directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner.

Harvey Gerald "George" Jones, 74, of Moncks Corner, SC, retired owner and operator of George Jones Mobile Homes, died Thurs., Aug. 31, 2006 in a North Charleston hospital. The funeral was held Sun., Sept. 3, cryptside in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, GA. The Rev. Jerry Wilson officiated. Entombment followed. Directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Mr. Jones was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Bath, SC , a son of Harvey C. Jones and Willie Mae Wilson Jones Toole. He was preceded in death by his step father, J. Laurie Toole and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jones began his career in manufactured housing in 1958, working part time for Schultz Hill Mobile Homes in his hometown of Augusta, GA. He ultimately was transferred to Charleston in the early 1960's. After Schultz Hill Homes closed in 1966, Harvey worked for several large dealer corporations and in 1975, founded George Jones Mobile Homes on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. Harvey 's wife, Ann, then began working for the company handling the administrative and insurance end of the business. The company was moved to Highway 52 in Moncks Corner in 1983 where it prospered until Harvey and Ann retired in 1994. With his near 40 years experience within the manufactured housing industry, Harvey 's knowledge continued to influence the company through his visits and counsel. Surviving are, his wife of 54 years, Ann McNorrill Jones; three daughters, Sheila Laurent and her husband, Paul, and Roxane Lane and her husband, Wendell, all of Summerville, and Nancy Monogan of James Island; a sister, Elizabeth Symms and her husband, Sam, of Augusta; and four grandchildren, James "Jamie" Monogan, III, Jenna Monogan, Amy Laurent, and Paige Lane.
