Notes re. "Revolutionary War" Markers at cemetery entrance:
Robert Young & Ben Hollingsworth stones placed in recent times. Much question whether they are actual tombstones or simple memorials

John Young, Major Thomas Young's & Christopher Young's brother, was "murdered" by Tories near where Sardis Church now sits. He was buried where he fell "under a large cedar tree." It was on his murder that the soon to be Major Thomas Young swore to make the Tories pay at the end of a rope for this transgression. P.S. - He made it happen too. (Editorial note from great-great-great-grandson of Christopher Young)
