Family # 19 (above) is Jacob Stover Haworth with Sarah and his first two children.  Mother refers to Mary STOVER, widow of Absalom (3rd wife) Mother, Mary STOVER and Absalom  had three children: Sarah Elizabeth Absalom Tomey and Jacob Stover. Sarah Elizabeth Haworth married Simon Peter STALCUP, 9 Nov 1865 Taney County Missouri. Absalom Tomey Haworth married Julie Alvrena STAGNER of Hood County Jacob Stover Haworth married Sarah Angeline HOWARD,  5 Nov 1875

John Absalom (Texas founder) was left an orphan very early in the Civil War and was raised by his grandmother, Mary (STOVER), widow of Absalom.

!         On the 1870 Census John is listed with his Uncle Dennis HAYWORTH and with his Aunt 'Emma' and John MOSS. John Absalom early youth was spent near the White River in South Central part of Taney County. His cousin, John Howell HAWORTH, son of Benjamin HAWORTH lived with his grandparent.  They were Micajah and Edna (WINN) HAWORTH.

In 1979 the grandson of John Howell HAWORTH, Vernon STALLCUP of Taney County  showed Ila (HAYWORTH) BREEDEN and her husband Glynn BREEDEN the log cabin of his grandfather, John Howell Haworth.   Vernon and his grandfather  were good "buddies".  Many times the grandfather had taken Vernon to the 'Ole swimming hole' where he and his cousin use to swim as young boys.  It was on the banks of White River, just before you entered the town of Forsyth. The 1870 Census it shows John Absalom Hayworth and John Howell Haworth living near each other.  I believe this was the swimming hole for my grandfather, John Absalom.

!       John Absalom Hayworth's youth consisted of long, hard days working the freight wagon yards of his Uncle Micajah Haworth.  Grandpa, John A. related  stories, to his son Jake (my dad),  of his making these long hauls with the freight wagons from  Missouri to Texas.

!       In early 1870s Grandmother, Mary STOVER HAWORTH, "dug-up"  a 40 dollar gold piece. With this she purchased supplies needed to bring her family to Collin County Texas.  Mary and Absalom's youngest son, Jacob Stover Haworth, married Sarah HOWARD on 5th Nov 1875. MARRIAGE RECORDED Collins Their arrival in Texas was  before 1875.
