This indenture made the second day of May in the year or our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety five, & in the nineteenth year of American Independence. Between Jason Moore of the County of Spartanburgh & State of South Carolina of the one part and James Moore (son of Jason Moore) of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jason Moore for and in Consideration of Twenty-five pounds Sterling to him in hand paid by the said James Moore, at and before the unsealing and delivery of these presents; the receipt whereof the said Jason Moore do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained, aliened, released & confirmed by these presents doth grant bargain alien release & confirm unto the said James Moore, in his actual possession now being in virtual of a bargain and sale to him forever; all that tract or parcel of land containing in the whole two hundred and sixty three acres (by two different surveys) lying and being in the State and County aforesaid on Hardy Branch the Waters of Tygar River, containing one hundred and sixty-three, bounded to the N. by Thomas Moores land, West by Will Fords land S. by Daniel Barnett and E by Robert Morrows land; having such shape form and marks as are represented by a plat thereunto annexed doth represent, reference thereunto will appear granted by his Excellency William Bull Esq. Lieut Governor in & over the province of South Carolina the patent bearing the date the nineteenth day of August Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & seventy-four, & conveyed to the said Jason Moore by Deed bearing date the Twentyfifth day of October Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred & Ninety three, signed by Alex. Brown, together with all Houses, out houses, buildings, woods, underwood, paths, passages, waters, and all appurtenances whatsoever to the said tracts or parcels of land belong or appertaining thereunto and the revisions & revisions remaining with specified property of all and singular the premises with their __ every of their appurtenances and also all the Estate rights Titles Interest Claims & Demands whatsoever both in law & Equity of him the said Jason Moore, of in & to the same, and every part and parcel thereof with their appurtenances. To have and to hold, all and singular the said tracts and parcels of land (containing two hundred and sixty-three acres) hereditaments premises and appurtenances above mentioned and every part thereof unto the said James Moore his heirs and assignees foreverafter property benefit and behoof of the said James Moore, his heirs and of assigns for sworn. And lastly the said Jason Moore his heirs and assignees the said premises and appurt Equipment thereof with their appurtenances from & against all persons claiming or to claim the said premises, by from or under the said Jason Moore shall & will warrant to he said James Moore his heirs & assignees & hereby forever defend. In witness thereof the said Jason Moore hath hereunto set his hand & seal this day & year first above.

Personally appearing John Otts before Thomas Moore one of the witnesses for the County aforesaid, and duly made oath that he saw the within named Jason Moore, sign seal and deliver the within Deed to James Moore & that he also saw Samuel Otts and William Otts subscribe and Witness with himself.
