Horry County Church Records

Church records can provide a variety of information about a community and its inhabitants. This is especially important for South Carolina research since the state did not require the recording of vital records until after 1900. The largest denominations in this area were the Methodist, Presbyterian, and Baptist.

The following church records have been transcribed and donated to this website:

Spring Branch Baptist Church, by Nancy Sandahl

Mt. Ariel Freewill Baptist Church, by Caroline Inman
