This is part of a letter that my aunt
(Elma Crawford Bailey) wrote in April 1992. It says " Sallie Fleming
first husband, a Mr. Fleming and his Father are buried there (Berkeley
Grove)
There is no Marker for their graves. Mr. Tom Finklea and his brother are
buried beside Mrs. Anna Finklea (She has marker) But they do not have
any. The Land for the Cemetery and
Church was given by Mr. James A. Haselden . Who is buried in the
cemetery . Berkeley Grove Episcopal Methodist Church was the first
Methodist church in the area.
The church was built of pine logs and it burnt down during a forest fire
in 1897. |
